Kai Lan
Bio
Dr. Kai Lan is an Assistant Professor of Sustainability Science and Engineering at the Department of Forest Biomaterials at NCSU. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Ph.D. in Forest Biomaterials from NCSU. Prior to joining NCSU, he was a postdoctoral associate at Yale University. His research interests are developing innovative modeling and assessment tools to assess and advance our industrial systems and the built environment related to sustainable bioenergy and biomaterials, especially in the context of climate change mitigation and circular economy.
