Bio
Dr. Ibrahim Elsohaby is an Assistant Professor of Public Health and Epidemiology and co-leads the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at City University of Hong Kong. His research falls under the One Health framework and focuses on three key areas: antimicrobial resistance, emerging zoonotic diseases, and animal health and welfare. Dr. Elsohaby’s work on antimicrobial resistance examines the impact of antimicrobial use in animals and its potential to spread resistance to humans in close contact with them. He is currently leading projects that assess antimicrobial use and resistance in dogs, cats, and exotic pets in Hong Kong, in collaboration with the Centre for Applied One Health Research and Policy Advice at City University of Hong Kong.
