Bio
Erin O. Sills is the Edwin F. Conger Professor and Head of the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources at North Carolina State University. She is a research associate of CIFOR (Center for International Forestry Research), EfD (Environment for Development), and Imazon (Institute of Man and Environment of the Amazon). Her research lies at the interface of environment and development economics, including global one health issues such as the effects of protected areas and deforestation on public health, occupational and environmental health in the mining sector, medicinal plants, time preferences and adoption of health technologies, gender dimensions of the adoption and impacts of improved cookstoves, and the impacts of COVID19 on the forestry sector in the US and forest-dependent communities in Nepal. She received her BA from Princeton University and her PhD from Duke University.
