Bio

My research focuses on the ecology of mosquitoes across the world, with an emphasis on the Caribbean and the United States. I’m interested in mosquitoes as organisms who have their own unique stories to tell. We work at all levels of ecological scale, from populations to communities and ecosystems, and ask questions about their taxonomy, behavior, and interactions with other species and the environment. I conducted research on aquatic insect communities in Puerto Rico for my M.S. at Texas Tech University, and became interested in mosquitoes specifically during my Ph.D. at Illinois State. I completed a post doc at the University of Calgary before accepting my current position.
