Bio

Becky Smith is an infectious disease epidemiologist at the UIUC College of Veterinary Medicine, a Health Innovation Professor at the Carle-Illinois College of Medicine, and co-lead of the Infection Genomics for One Health theme at the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology. Her work focuses on transdisciplinary approaches to infectious disease control, with specialization in mathematical and statistical modeling and applications to vector-borne diseases, antimicrobial resistance, wastewater surveillance, biosecurity, and more.
