Bio

Dr. Hassanatu Blake is a global health leader, educator, and social impact innovator with over 2 decades of experience in public health, healthcare policy, and workforce learning and development. As the Director of the Global Health Undergraduate Program and Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Global, Environmental, and Occupational Health at the University of Maryland School of Public Health, she is dedicated to preparing the next generation of global health professionals. Her expertise spans health equity, digital health innovation, and cross-cultural capacity building, with a focus on leveraging technology to improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations. Dr. Blake’s leadership roles, including her service as a Commissioner on the Maryland Health Care Commission, underscore her commitment to advancing health resources and services to all. A FUSE Executive Fellow Alum and Rock Health Top 50 Leader in Digital Health, her research and work on digital health solutions for HIV prevention and on environmental health inequities have been published in leading journals. With extensive international experience, including her work with the CDC in Namibia and USAID across Africa, Dr. Blake embodies the principles of Global One Health by addressing interconnected health challenges through education, innovation, and community-driven solutions. Her multidisciplinary background and dedication to reducing barriers to health and education align with GOHA’s mission to foster equitable, sustainable health systems.
