Kerry Cooper
Bio
Dr. Cooper is a representative for the One Health Initiative Advisory Panel at the University of Arizona. His research applies genomics, particularly cutting-edge next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, to address food safety challenges. It focuses on developing cost effective, applicable, and rapid solutions for the food industry, while also directly supporting public health agencies, policy makers, and the general population. In particular, developing effective tools for detecting various pathogens and improving food and water safety in low- and middle-income countries such as Peru, Tanzania, and India. His research is ultimately working to address current as well as future food and water safety issues that are rapidly changing due to climate change in different countries around the world.
