Bio

Dr. Harimalala is a senior researcher at the Medical Entomology Unit of the Institut Pasteur de Madagascar. She is working on fleas and on the vectorial transmission of plague in Madagascar. Her activities are mainly focused on the bioecology, systematics and genetics of fleas. The mechanisms of transmission of plague bacillus by fleas are among major interests. Entomological surveillance as well as vector control are also important subtopics that she is focused on.
