Bio

The focus of my professional, teaching, research and extension program has largely been in veterinary medicine, One Health, molecular epidemiology of zoonotic and infectious diseases, food safety, antimicrobial resistance, and microbial pathogenesis, which are all great public health relevance. My research program is mainly focused on studying the microbial source-tracking, the antimicrobial resistance transmission, and virulence factors of infectious pathogens from different farm animal sources in the production environment to help understanding the epidemiological determinants of infectious diseases and implement new interventional strategies that help to maintain farm animals’ health as well as infection control and prevention. I am also pursuing part of my career service and experiences to provide leadership, and technical oversight to support implementation of Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) and Emerging Infectious and Zoonotic Diseases and One Health plans to predict, control and respond to future pandemics.
