I am a Professor in the Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University. My research mainly focuses on (a) developing flexible semiparametric/nonparametric methods for survival and longitudinal data analysis; (b) developing innovative methods for high dimensional and big data analysis; (c) developing sophisticated statistical and machine learning methods for optimal treatment regime estimation and subgroup analysis in precision medicine; (d) developing powerful statistical tools for genetic association studies. I have more than 130 published or accepted papers in a variety of statistical/biostatistical journals and machine learning/AI conferences, including JRSSB, Biometrika, JASA, Annals of Statistics, Biometrics, Biostatistics, Statistica Sinica, Annals of Applied Statistics, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, NIPS. My research has been funded by several NIH grants. I am a Fellow of American Statistical Association.
