From Provost Arden: Student Connectivity and Synchronous Participation

In this memo, Provost Arden asks all instructors of record to make course content delivered synchronously also available asynchronously for students facing connectivity and access issues. Instructors are also to refrain from scheduling synchronous activities outside of the original course time.

In this memo, Provost Arden provides information to instructors of record about managing exams (including final exams), changing course grades from letter grades to Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U), and requests for late course drops.

From Provost Arden: Requirement for Remote Instruction

Chancellor Woodson has announced that students will have only limited access to campus and that all courses will move fully online. Exceptions for face-to-face instruction will no longer be allowed; all instruction will be remote.

In this memo, Provost Arden informs all instructors of record to contact their students no later than Wednesday, Mar. 18 at 6 p.m. EST to begin sharing the pertinent information students need for when classes resume on Mar. 23.

From Provost Arden: Change in Spring 2020 Schedule and Move to Online Instruction

In this memo, Provost Arden informs all instructors of record that when classes resume on March 23, their courses should not meet face-to-face but rather use the alternate methods, including online methods, for course delivery that they have developed in their academic continuity plans. Exceptions will be allowed in limited circumstances and must be approved by their college.

From Provost Arden: Academic Continuity Plans for Spring 2020

In this memo, Provost Arden asks all instructors of record to create academic continuity plans for each of their Spring 2020 courses and submit them to department heads or unit leaders no later than March 20.  Resources, templates and training have been developed to help faculty create course continuity plans.
