NC State faculty make a marked difference in the personal and academic lives of their students. In recognition of this commitment to holistic student success, the Office of Faculty Development started the Thank a Teacher program in 2010.
Nominations for 2018-19 Faculty Awards Sought
Nominations are now open for six awards open to NC State faculty members. For more information about nominations for any of the awards listed, contact the university awards and events coordinator, Judy Austin.
Nominations Open for Honorary Degrees
At NC State, honorary degrees recognize individuals whose achievements are extraordinary and have lasting distinction. Usual degree requirements for an academic degree are waived to bestow honors on those who have made exceptional contributions to a specific field or to society in general.
Kwesi Craig Brookins Named 2018-19 ACE Fellow
The American Council on Education (ACE) announced that Kwesi Craig Brookins, associate professor in the Department of Psychology with an appointment in Africana Studies, has been named an ACE Fellow for the 2018-19 academic year. Brookins will spend the next year at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) learning more about community engagement, the Scholarship of Engagement, and how anchor institutions in urban areas effectively collaborate with local communities.

2018 Awards for Excellence Winners
Congratulations to the twelve NC State employees who received the NC State University Award for Excellence on Monday June 11, 2018. The Award for Excellence is the most prestigious honor bestowed upon non-faculty employees at NC State. Three this year also were named recipients of the 2018 Governor’s Award for Excellence Program, the highest honor a state employee can receive.
