Albert Keung Named Integrative Sciences Initiative Director of Biotechnology Programs

Albert Keung has been named director of biotechnology programs for the Integrative Sciences Initiative (ISI) in the Office of University Interdisciplinary Programs, effective March 1. ISI Executive Director Joshua Pierce made the announcement today.

Keung is the Goodnight Distinguished Scholar in Innovation in Biotechnology and Biomolecular Engineering and an associate professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.

As director of biotechnology programs, he will lead the implementation of ISI’s vision regarding accelerated biomolecule synthesis and analysis, robotic infrastructure and related biotechnology platforms from both a curriculum and research point of view. He will lead the development of grants and other proposals for funding of research efforts, with a particular focus on biotechnology. Additionally, Albert will collaborate with colleagues across campus to create opportunities for seed funding and pilot projects.
