August 2022 Provost’s Corner

Dear faculty and staff,

Welcome to the 2022-23 academic year! Our NC State community continues to grow, as we recently welcomed 5,600 first-time, first-year students to campus, along with more than 1,300 new transfer students, 2,500 new graduate students and 1,110 new international students, as well as new faculty and staff.

I would love for you to take a moment to view a special welcome back message from Senior Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs Katharine Stewart and myself. We want to extend a hearty welcome to each one of you, no matter how long you’ve been a part of the Wolfpack family. This year promises to be an exciting one, filled with new opportunities for teaching, learning, research and service. 

Based on your activities over the summer, you keep the same positive momentum year-round. Some of you traveled the country or the world, while others made strides in your research or just took a break to spend quality time with loved ones. I hope that as you start the semester, you remember how much of a valued part of our community you are. Thank you for your continued support of and commitment to NC State, and let’s work together for an outstanding year.
