NC State’s DASA Supports Student Success
Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Warwick Arden appears on the most recent episode of The Praeci Podcast. The podcast, produced by Carter Pape (‘18, B.S. Mathematics) in collaboration with 88.1 WKNC, focuses on news and events related to NC State and Raleigh.
In this episode, Provost Arden discusses how the former Divisions of Student Affairs and Undergraduate Academic Programs became the Division of Academic and Student Affairs (DASA). Arden notes that the creation of DASA originated from a desire to further support student success, a key goal of “The Pathway to the Future: NC State’s 2011-2020 Strategic Plan.”
“Much of student success wasn’t just about what happened inside the classroom, or just about what happened outside the classroom; it was the coordination of the two,” said Arden. “It [the strategic plan] has five overarching goals, of which student success became the No. 1 goal.”
DASA Vice Chancellor and Dean Mike Mullen, former Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Tom Stafford, former DASA Assistant Vice Provost Roger Callanan and former Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Evelyn Reiman also contributed to the podcast.
