Vice Provost and Director of Libraries Susan Nutter to Retire

Susan Nutter, vice provost and director of the NCSU Libraries, has announced that she is stepping down this fall. Nutter arrived at NC State in 1987 with a vision of creating a world-class library on Centennial Campus. Her vision was realized with the opening of the James B. Hunt Jr. Library in January 2013.

Students Share Value of Graduate Education with Legislators

Three NC State graduate students were among those participating in Graduate Education Day at the N.C. General Assembly in mid-May. The event featured the research work of more than 30 graduate students from across the state, from both public and private universities. Libraries Receive Visualization Grant

NC State has been awarded a $414,000 grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the advancement of tools and techniques for developing and sharing large-scale visual content for research. Entitled “Visualizing Digital Scholarship in Libraries and Learning Spaces,” the project aims to continue the NCSU Libraries’ pioneering work with large-scale, research visualization technologies.

Goodnight Scholars Program Announces First Transfer Class

NC State's Goodnight Scholars program announced the 10 recipients for its historic transfer class of 2019. NC State announced this January that the Goodnight Scholars Program would extend to high-achieving students with financial need who hail from North Carolina community colleges.
