Coronavirus Update for Mar. 4, 2020

As NC State nears spring break, Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread throughout the world and in parts of the United States. As of yesterday, we learned of a confirmed case in Wake County; the individual tested positive after returning from travel to Washington State and has no known connections to campus.

Coronavirus Update: New Travel Restrictions and Recommendations

NC State continues to monitor the evolving outbreak of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Given the rapid spread of COVID-19, and to help ensure the ongoing health and safety of the university community, effective immediately NC State is prohibiting university-related travel to CDC-designated Level 2 and Level 3 countries for Coronavirus and will not reimburse travel to these areas.

NC State University continues to work closely with the Wake County Health Department and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to monitor the spread of 2019 novel coronavirus and support the health and safety of the university and broader community.

University Updates on Emerging Respiratory Illness 2019-nCoV

NC State University is working with state and local health officials to closely monitor the outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) first identified in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China.  The campus community, and travelers in particular, are reminded to stay updated as events continue to unfold on the world stage.
