Setting the Standard for Faculty Achievement

The Celebration of Faculty Excellence is held each spring to recognize outstanding faculty who have received prestigious state, national and international awards, accolades or other distinctions during this academic year. This year, NC State honored 31 faculty members during the 2026 Celebration of Faculty Excellence on May 5.

As industries shift and workforce demands grow more complex, NC State continues to respond with a stronger focus on academic quality and innovation. The question isn’t if the university will respond — it’s how. One answer is the OASIS Academic Innovation Accelerator, which celebrated its inaugural cohort during a Showcase event in late April.

Congratulations, NC State Class of 2026!

NC State’s spring 2026 commencement ceremony saw thousands of newly-minted graduates sing the alma mater together to usher in a new chapter of life recently. Together they will have earned 97 associate, 5,600 bachelor’s, 1,773 master’s and 338 doctoral degrees. Every tassel turned represents a story shaped by studies and service. We’re showcasing some of those graduates here.

College of Natural Resources Dean Myron Floyd will step down effective August 1, 2026, and will return to the college’s faculty. Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Warwick Arden made the announcement today.

Veena Misra Named Interim Dean of NC State’s College of Engineering

Veena Misra, head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been appointed interim dean of NC State’s College of Engineering, effective May 11.

NC State has honored nearly 50 faculty for their commitment to educational excellence with the 2025-26 University Teaching Awards. Award recipients were recognized at a University Teaching Awards Luncheon and Ceremony on Tuesday, April 21 at the James B. Hunt Jr. Library.

2025-26 Winner of Provost’s Award for High-Impact Experiential Learning Announced

NC State has announced that the Panoramic Dance Project, led by Associate Teaching Professor Christa Oliver, is the winner of the Provost's Award for High-Impact Experiential Learning. Oliver and the Panoramic Dance Project were honored at the University Teaching Awards on Tuesday, April 21.
