{"id":16995,"date":"2021-09-13T01:15:30","date_gmt":"2021-09-13T05:15:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/provost.ncsu.edu\/?p=16995"},"modified":"2021-09-15T10:33:25","modified_gmt":"2021-09-15T14:33:25","slug":"search-for-the-dean-of-the-college-of-education-now-underway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/provost.ncsu.edu\/news\/2021\/09\/search-for-the-dean-of-the-college-of-education-now-underway\/","title":{"rendered":"Search for the Dean of the College of Education Now Underway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"\">An open search for the dean of the College of Education is now underway.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">Recently, it was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/provost.ncsu.edu\/news\/2021\/05\/college-of-education-dean-mary-ann-danowitz-to-step-down\/\"><span style=\"\">announced<\/span><\/a><span style=\"\"> that Dean Mary Ann Danowitz will return to the college\u2019s faculty in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy and Human Development, effective October 5. Paola Sztajn, a professor in the Department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences who recently served as interim associate vice provost for academic personnel and policy, will serve as interim dean.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"\">The nomination committee for the dean of the College of Education is chaired by Dean Chris McGahan of the College of Sciences. The other committee members each represent a group of college constituents including faculty from each department, department heads, administration, EHRA non-faculty staff, SHRA staff, students and the College of Education Board. Finalist candidate interviews and open forums will be held in early spring 2022.
