It is one of the most prestigious undergraduate teaching awards at NC&#160;State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#top\">top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"criteria-and-eligibility\">Criteria and <strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To be considered for the Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor Award, the nominee:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be full-time faculty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Has not been previously named as an Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor at the university level<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is a recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Award<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In addition to undergraduate teaching assignments for at least 7 years at NC&#160;State, has provided distinguished service in support of undergraduate teaching, such as but not limited to study abroad, service-learning, undergraduate research, or work on committees relating to undergraduate teaching.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is teaching in the academic year of nomination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#top\">top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"recognition-and-award\"><strong>Recognition and Award<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Recipients will be designated as <strong>Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professors<\/strong> and will retain this title for as long as they remain members of the NC&#160;State faculty. Each recipient will receive a cash award from the NC&#160;State Alumni Association, be honored at the University Teaching Awards Ceremony, and be featured in NC&#160;State media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of award recipients may vary based on funding availability from the Alumni Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#top\">top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"renomination\"><strong>Renomination<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A nomination may be resubmitted for the next award cycle if the nominee has not been selected as a recipient of this award. <strong>Renominations are not automatic. <\/strong>They must be resubmitted with updates that reflect the current year of nomination, confirmation of continued support from the writers of support letters, and any information regarding awards, accolades, projects, publications, or other activities completed after the submission of last year\u2019s nominations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"nomination-limits\">Nomination Limits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>College-level award committees may identify and submit up to <strong>two (2) nominations per college<\/strong> for consideration for recognition as Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professors<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"nomination-and-submission-guidelines\">Nomination and Submission Guidelines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Nomination Deadline for the 2026-2027 Academic Year: To Be Determined<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nomination Package Submission<br>Required Documents<br><\/strong>Please create PDF files for each document contained in the nomination package<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Current CV. &nbsp;<strong>Limit 25 pages<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Statement articulating the candidate\u2019s contributions to the teaching mission, highlighting both their distinguished service in support of undergraduate teaching at the university and their involvement in the efforts of building relationships and engagement with NC&#160;State alumni and friends.&nbsp;<strong>Limit 2 pages<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Samples of course materials (such as excerpts from syllabi, assignments, projects, exams, student portfolios, or other evidence of student learning outcome) or documentation of teaching-related activities such as leadership related to teaching and learning or continuing professional development (workshops, institutes, etc.)<strong>&nbsp;Limit 4-8 pages<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A narrative summarizing the results from student end-of-course evaluations over the past two years.
