The ability to continue to compete nationally and internationally requires broad networks and collaborations, diversity of ideas and approaches, and initiatives that go beyond the abilities of any one single institution. The target audience is faculty who have received foundational leadership training and who have at least 1-2 years of experience in their current leadership role, such as department heads, assistant or associate deans, and vice provosts (or similar titles as they may vary across institutions).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Call for Applications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program Structure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The program consists of a virtual kick off and three on-site sessions over the course of the calendar year, each hosted at a different participating university campus. These sessions are designed to build leadership awareness and effectiveness in the context of higher education, and facilitate conversations over a range of topics that support leadership growth in key areas across multiple spheres of influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On-site sessions will include content and discussion designed to further knowledge and skills of intra- and inter-personal leadership styles, leading and navigating complex challenges in higher education, and collaborating on complex challenges for leaders in academia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sessions for 2026 are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>February 6, 2026, 1:00-3:00 p.m., Virtual Kickoff on Zoom<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>March 23-25, 2026, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>June 29 &#8211; July 1, 2026, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>October 5-7, 2026, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each on-site session will begin with lunch at noon on the first day, and conclude at noon on the third day with a boxed to-go lunch. Meals will be provided throughout each session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cost of the program itself and hotel accommodations for participants are covered by the ACC Academic Consortium. The Office for Faculty Excellence will cover any reimbursable travel costs, such as flights or mileage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants should:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be a full-time NC&#160;State faculty member<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold a formal leadership position, such as but not limited to:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Director of Undergraduate Programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Director of Graduate Programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Department Head<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Associate Department Head<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Associate Dean<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assistant Dean<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have held that position for more than 1 year but fewer than 5 years<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be available for all three in-person ALN meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications for our 2026 cohort are now closed.
