(Please refer to this<a href=\"https:\/\/fulbrightscholars.org\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/Terminal%20Degrees%202022-2023.pdf\"> list of common terminal degrees<\/a>.) Current faculty, administrators, and experienced professionals are encouraged to apply.\u00a0 If a terminal degree is required, degree conferment before the fellowship start date is mandatory.<br>Postdoc awards are open to scholars who will have received a doctoral degree (Ph.D., J.D., M.D., Ed.D., etc.) within five years of the fellowship start date, unless otherwise noted on the award description\u2019s Award Requirements section.<br>Graduate or doctoral students seeking funding to complete their degrees are ineligible. Recipients of a Fulbright Specialist Program grant are not required to adhere to the two-year waiting period before applying for a Fulbright Scholar award. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received a Scholar award. This does not include recipients of a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program grant who started their grant during the 2019-20 academic year, and were not able to complete their grants due to COVID-19.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ncst-accordion ncst-accordion\"><div class=\"accordion\" id=\"ncst-accordion-0\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-ncst-accordion-item ncst-accordion-item panel\"><a class=\"accordion-item__header collapsed\" href=\"#ncst-accordion-item-2\" id=\"ncst-accordion-item-heading-2\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#ncst-accordion-item-2\" aria-controls=\"ncst-accordion-item-2\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"accordion-item__expansion-indicator\"><span class=\"ncst-plus-minus-toggle\"><\/span><\/span><h2 class=\"accordion-item__label h5\"><strong>Fulbright U.S Scholar applicants must meet all eligibility requirements at the time of application unless specific exceptions apply.<\/strong><\/h2><\/a><div class=\"collapse panel-collapse accordion-item__content-container \" id=\"ncst-accordion-item-2\" aria-labelledby=\"ncst-accordion-item-heading-2\" data-parent=\"#ncst-accordion-0\"><div class=\"accordion-item__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dual citizenship:<\/strong> In some cases, a dual national may not be eligible to participate in a Fulbright program in the country of their other nationality due to host country law or policy. While individual award descriptions specify whether this is a point of ineligibility, it is incumbent upon all applicants to ascertain whether they have, or are eligible to have, their host country\u2019s nationality and to address any potential consequences thereof before they accept an award.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prior Fulbright Grants:<\/strong> For serial or Flex grants, the two-year period begins at the end of the final grant in the series.) Fulbright Scholar grants include: Fulbright U.S. Scholar, International Education Administrator Seminar, Fulbright Arctic, and Fulbright Visiting Scholar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Education and Experience: <\/strong>Applicants are expected to demonstrate they meet the qualifications stated in the award; in some cases, this may include briefly addressing the nature of their terminal degree in the application.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Education:<\/strong> Professional\/terminal degree refers to the highest degree awarded in a field. The degree level can vary by academic and professional field, as not all terminal degrees are doctorates. (Please refer to this<a href=\"https:\/\/fulbrightscholars.org\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/Terminal%20Degrees%202022-2023.pdf\"> list of common terminal degrees<\/a>.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Grant Activity:<\/strong> Grants shall not authorize engagement in pastoral, missionary, or other professional religious activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Grant Activity: <\/strong>Grants shall not authorize engagement in activities for which a license to practice medicine or nursing is required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Language requirements: <\/strong>Foreign language proficiency may be required depending on the country, type of grant activity (teaching or research), and the nature of the proposed projects. (Note: In many world areas, English is sufficient for teaching activities.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sound physical and mental health:<\/strong> selected candidates are required to submit a Medical History and Examination Report before their grants can be finalized. (This process takes place after candidates selected for grants are notified of their selection.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants are required to disclose if they have been arrested for, indicted for, or charged with a felony or a misdemeanor (excluding minor traffic violations, juvenile convictions, or cases where the record has been sealed or expunged) or accused of misconduct (including but not limited to unethical practices, harassment, sexual harassment or abuse, or other misconduct that may have been the focus of some kind of inquiry or process).
