{"id":2558,"date":"2012-10-18T11:15:29","date_gmt":"2012-10-18T15:15:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ofd.ncsu.edu\/?page_id=2558"},"modified":"2012-10-18T11:15:29","modified_gmt":"2012-10-18T15:15:29","slug":"leadership-development-programs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/provost.ncsu.edu\/ofe\/events-and-programs\/leadership-development-programs\/","title":{"rendered":"Leadership Development Programs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Climate Workshop for Academic Department Heads<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThis program is an outgrowth of the <a href=\"http:\/\/oied.ncsu.edu\/advance\/workshops\/climate-workshops-for-department-heads\/\">ADVANCE Leadership Workshop<\/a>, a NSF-funded project that ran between 2009-2011, and its goal was to promote the advancement and success of all faculty, with a focus on women and minority faculty.<br \/>\nThese\u00a0workshops focus on enhancing the workplace climate in departments.\u00a0 The program will consist of a series of four workshops plus a survey of faculty and staff in the head&#8217;s department.\u00a0 The workshops address the experiences and successes of past participants, provide readings and discussions on the benefits and challenges of promoting an inclusive climate within a diverse work environment, administer and provide confidential results of the survey, and provide strategies for moving forward.<br \/>\nFor information about current and past Climate Workshops for Department Heads, please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/oied.ncsu.edu\/faculty\/climate-workshop-series-for-department-heads\/\">Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity&#8217;s website for the program<\/a>.<br \/>\n______________________________________________________________________<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>American Council of Education Fellows Program<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.acenet.edu\/Pages\/default.aspx\">ACE Fellows Faculty Program<\/a>\u00a0enables participants to immerse themselves in the culture, policies, and decision-making processes of another institution.\u00a0 Since 1965, hundreds of vice presidents, deans, department chairs, faculty, and other emerging leaders have participated in the Program.\u00a0 Potential ACE Fellows at NC&#160;State are required to submit an application packet and have a Dean\u2019s letter of approval.<br \/>\nFor information on how to apply and program deadlines, please click\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ofd.ncsu.edu\/events-and-programs\/leadership-development-programs\/ace-fellowship-application-deadlines\/\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 A list of previous NC&#160;State ACE Fellows can be found\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ofd.ncsu.edu\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/recent_ncstate_ace_fellows.docx\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\n______________________________________________________________________<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Bridges<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/oied.ncsu.edu\/equity\/bridges\/\">BRIDGES<\/a>\u00a0is an intensive professional development program for women in higher education who seek to gain or strengthen their academic leadership capabilities. It is designed to help women identify, understand, and move into leadership roles in the academy.
