That is why the Office for Faculty Excellence is thrilled to invite you to join nearly 700 faculty and staff from around the world to participate in this year’s NC State SPARK (Summer Programs: Aspire, Renew, Kindle).
The theme is Igniting Outstanding Teaching, and whether you are a veteran faculty member, an instructional staff member or a graduate student preparing for your future classroom, SPARK is designed to seamlessly fit into your summer. As always, our asynchronous program allows you to engage with professional development at your own pace, on your own time and using your favorite device.
What to Expect This Summer
This July, we are diving deep into the art, science and passion of pedagogy. Each week, a distinguished member of the NC State Academy of Outstanding Teachers will sit down to interview world-renowned educators from a variety of disciplines.
On July 8, the first episode launches with Stephen Chew, professor of psychology at Samford University and a nationally recognized expert on teaching and learning. He will be joined in conversation with Melissa Srougi, associate teaching professor in the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine and a member of the NC State Academy of Outstanding Teachers.
Together, they will explore what it takes to elevate the classroom experience. You can look forward to a rich conversation about innovative teaching techniques and how to inspire and engage students.
