The Board of Trustees of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) officially reaffirmed NC State’s institutional accreditation through 2034, with no additional requested reports. The decision was made during the SACSCOC annual meeting on December 8, 2024.
Reaffirmation of accreditation ensures the university’s ability to continue to offer accredited degree and non-degree programs to all students. To have the university’s accreditation reaffirmed for the next decade with no areas of concern is a reflection of the quality of an NC State degree and the university’s relentless commitment to student success.
A key aspect of SACSCOC’s 10-year reaffirmation process was the creation of a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) to improve student learning outcomes. NC State’s QEP, Packways: Learning by Doing, focuses on student engagement through high-impact experiences. Learn more at go.ncsu.edu/packways.
Many in the university community provided invaluable assistance in the SACSCOC reaffirmation of accreditation process, including Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Warwick Arden and Vice Provost for Assessment and Accreditation Fashaad Crawford. Faculty, staff and students also participated in the reaffirmation process by contributing evidence, writing narratives or participating in site visits.
