3D Memo: COVID-19 Related Workplace Safety Expectations and Approvals

Safety measures – such as face coverings, physical distancing of at least six feet, and hand sanitation – are expected when employees are on campus. In certain areas and circumstances, more specific requirements may be approved. Any requests for personal protective equipment (PPE) or other safety requirements that go beyond the expected protocols outlined in the Return to Work guide and associated websites must be submitted for review and approval.

A Different Prague Experience

More than 50 NC State undergraduates arrived at the NC State European Center in Prague this January to go on a journey of academic and cultural enrichment. Signs of spring began to show up in the Czech Republic’s capital just as COVID-19 hit. Even with everything that happened this semester, NC State Prague continued with classes, albeit in a different manner than usual.

Campus Update from Provost Arden and Vice Chancellor Maimone

NC State is moving forward with a phased reactivation plan for critical operations and activities in adherence with the Governor’s Phase 1 mandate. Our top priority in all decisions is the health, safety and well-being of our Wolfpack community. NC State will follow all state orders and UNC System guidance, as well as CDC guidelines to help ensure a safe on-campus environment.

Vice Provost Katharine Stewart to Shave Head (Seriously) if Faculty/Staff Donations to Student Emergency Fund Hit $25K by May 15

If NC State’s associate deans for academic affairs and others raise $25,000 for the university’s Student Emergency Fund before Friday, May 15, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs Katharine Stewart will shave her head.

From Provost Arden: Academic Continuity Plans for Fall 2020

In this memo, Provost Arden asks all instructors of record to create academic continuity plans for each of their Fall 2020 courses and submit them to department heads or unit leaders no later than July 31. Resources, templates and training have been developed to help faculty create course continuity plans.

3D Memo: Families First Coronavirus Response Act and Paid Administrative Leave

The federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) was enacted in March 2020 to address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the U.S. The FFCRA went into effect April 1, 2020, and is set to remain in effect until December 31, 2020. The act provides two types of leave: emergency paid sick leave and expanded family medical leave.
