Search for Vice Provost and Director of Libraries Underway

Susan Nutter, vice provost and director of the NCSU Libraries, retired from NC State in October after 30 years of service. Greg Raschke, associate director for collections and scholarly communication, is serving as Interim Vice Provost and Director of Libraries.

An open search for the Vice Provost and Director of Libraries is now underway. The nomination committee is chaired by Mike Mullen, vice chancellor and dean, Division of Academic and Student Affairs. Members of the committee are:

  • Ed Sabornie, Professor and Co-Coordinator, Graduate Program in Special Education; Teacher Education and Learning Sciences, College of Education
  • Richard Kotek, Associate Professor, Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science, College of Textiles
  • Craig C. Brookins, Coordinator, Africana Studies, College of Humanities and Social Sciences; Engagement Scholarship Fellow, Outreach and Engagement
  • Kris Alpi, Director, William Rand Kenan, Jr. Library of Veterinary Medicine, the NCSU Libraries
  • Mitchell Moravec, Senior, College of Engineering
  • Nicole Guistwite, Business Specialist, Department of University Recreation, DASA
  • Darby Orcutt, Assistant Head, Collections and Research Strategy, the NCSU Libraries

Executive Search Services in NC State’s Human Resources Division will be assisting the committee. Kelly Wick will be the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost’s liaison for this search.

The nomination committee recently had its first meeting and will continue to work over the summer. Finalist candidates will be brought to campus in the fall for interviews and open forums. Stay up to date with the search by visiting the Provost’s Office website.
