Outstanding Faculty Support

Dr. Katie Perry, senior vice provost and professor emerita, will retire at the end of the semester after serving NC State full- and part-time for 37 years. She’ll then hand over many of her responsibilities to Dr. Courtney Thornton, associate vice provost for academic personnel and policy and an NC State College of Education alumna.

University Teaching Awards Presented

NC State honored three dozen faculty members at 2016-2017 University Teaching Awards Luncheon and Ceremony on April 3. Among the honorees was Dr. Maria Oliver-Hoyo, Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor in the Department of Chemistry, who received the Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching.
