Amy Circosta Named Interim Vice Provost for Institutional Equity and Diversity

Announcement by Provost Arden:

As I shared last month, Vice Provost for Institutional Equity and Diversity Joanne Woodard is leaving NC State in June to become the new vice president for diversity and inclusion at the University of North Texas.

Today, I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Amy Circosta as interim vice provost for institutional equity and diversity, effective June 15, 2015. Amy most recently served as associate vice provost for equal opportunity and equity, originally joining NC State in 2006 as director of harassment prevention programs in the former Office for Equal Opportunity. She looks forward to working with OIED staff over the next year as they continue to make NC State a welcoming and inclusive campus for all members of our community.

I will begin a national search for vice provost for institutional equity and diversity in the fall, with an initial review of candidates in early 2016. My hope is to have the new vice provost in place July 2016.

Finally, I take this opportunity to again thank Joanne Woodard for her leadership of OIED and her 27 years of outstanding service and dedication to the faculty, staff and students of NC State.
