Chancellor Announces 2014-15 University Faculty Scholars

North Carolina State University Chancellor Randy Woodson announced today the 2014-15 University Faculty Scholars, top NC State early- and mid-career faculty who will receive $10,000 in donated funds for each of the next five years to support their academic endeavors.

Chancellor Randy Woodson has announced a second call for faculty cluster proposals. This new proposal round will identify four to six additional clusters and fund approximately 15 to 20 new faculty lines through the Chancellor’s Faculty Excellence Program (CFEP).

UNC Paper Praises NC State Clusters

The student newspaper at UNC–Chapel Hill urged university officials to follow NC State’s lead and hire interdisciplinary clusters of faculty members to boost research. In an editorial Wednesday, the Daily Tar Heel said Carolina should adopt the cluster model to “keep up with other leading research institutions.”
