Evan Byrd<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Evan Byrd is a Biochemistry<\/strong> major graduating Spring 2028. With strong interests in social determinants of health and infectious disease, Evan plans on attending medical school after graduation. He hopes to utilize his One Health background for collaborative efforts on infectious disease initiatives in both global and rural settings. In his spare time you can find Evan outdoors kayaking, hiking or climbing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joshua George<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Joshua George is a third-year Statistics<\/strong> major with minors in Global One Health, Biology, and Geospatial Analytics. He plans to pursue a career applying statistical modeling to public health research, specifically population-level health data. He has participated in research analyzing the relationship between technological infrastructure and both air quality and social vulnerability across the United States. He has also contributed to environmental justice mapping initiatives with the North Carolina Environmental Justice Network (NCEJN). He aims to use the One Health framework to better understand the connection between health disparities and environmental exposures and to support improved public health outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caniya Hall<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Caniya Hall is currently a junior studying Biological and Agricultural Engineering Technology (BAET)<\/strong>. Caniya is also pursuing a minor in Global One Health and plans to add a minor in biomanufacturing. Her academic interests include engineering, biotechnology, human health, and product development. As a Global One Health Scholar, Caniya hopes to gain a deeper understanding of connections between human and environmental health while connecting with students and professionals across a variety of disciplines. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries and later on pivot into cosmetic science, where she can contribute to the development of products that improve health and quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brynn Laske<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Brynn Laske is a junior majoring in Biology<\/strong> with a minor in Global One Health. Brynn is extremely interested in how historical and cultural undertones drive disease disparity and contribute to the Social Determinants of Health. Through a One Health lens, she hope to explore such topics, build a holistic understanding of health, and advocate for health equity. Ultimately, her career aspiration is to become a physician. Outside of academics, Brynn enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time with friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mirabelle Scheuerle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Mirabelle Scheuerle is a junior majoring in Biochemistry<\/strong> with minors in Animal Science and Global One Health. She is passionate about pursuing a career in veterinary medicine through a One Health framework, with a focus on the intersection of human, animal, and environmental health. Her interests include exotic and wildlife medicine, as well as veterinary research. Currently, she is involved in research in the Cruse Lab. Outside of academics, you can find her playing piccolo in the NC State marching band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liz Stern is a third-year student in Wildlife Science<\/strong> with a minor in Global One Health. She hopes to combine her studies with public service by working in interdisciplinary teams to address challenges at the intersection of wildlife and public health. She is particularly interested in studying zoonotic disease transmission and its relation to species composition change within ecosystems. Liz has pursued her interests in outreach, leadership, and research by working as a museum educator, serving as president of the Leopold Wildlife Club, and surveying mammal diversity and wildlife disease in the field.
