Educating Future Scholars<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Diverse perspectives are a cornerstone of global One Health, shaping solutions that promote wellbeing for people, animals, plants, and ecosystems. Our educational programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels bring these diverse perspectives together, preparing the next generation of thinkers to work across disciplines and within communities to achieve the goals of One Health. From a strong undergraduate minor in Global One Health, through an innovative MS program and graduate-level training through interdisciplinary One Health fellowships, the Global One Health Academy develops leaders equipped to confront complex health challenges in North Carolina and around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interdisciplinary One Health Education<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Global One Health Academy empowers students to increase their awareness of global grand challenges through programs that are focused principally on problem solving, and infused with experiential training and research opportunities at the interface of human, animal, plant and environmental health. These One Health challenges confront both international communities and communities here in North Carolina, highlighting our society\u2019s interconnectedness and the need for local-to-global and global-to-local education and training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the Global One Health Academy, students in all disciplines and colleges have the opportunity to obtain knowledge, skills, and credentials in One Health that can be applied locally or globally. Local experiential learning opportunities connect global One Health concepts with the North Carolina context, providing a deep connection to place, while service-learning experiences abroad expose students to new cultural environments and enable an understanding of the broad roles that NC State plays in our increasingly international community. Throughout, students gain experience in interdisciplinary team science that addresses global issues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
