Bio
Dr. Yasser Mahmmod is an Associate Professor of Production Animal Medicine and Welfare at the Lewyt College of Veterinary Medicine Long Island University. The focus of his professional, research and teaching interests falls under preventive veterinary medicine, food animal population health, antimicrobial resistance in production animals, and epidemiology and control of infectious diseases in the livestock. For his broad experience and interdisciplinary research interests in One Health, Dr. Mahmmod had been promoted into several positions at academic institutions in Denmark, Spain, the USA, China, Egypt, and UAE. At the international level, Dr. Mahmmod is serving as an expert and consultant in livestock health& production and infectious diseases of farm animals to various international organizations, including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the World Health Organization (WHO). Dr. Mahmmod has received several awards including the European Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship, Merit Scholarship Program Award, Medal of Excellence from the President of Egypt, and State Encouragement Award. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Animal Sciences (Animal Welfare).
