Rebecca Maudling
Bio
Dr Rebecca Maudling’s work focuses on issues of global health and international aid. She is an independent One Health consultant and has worked within and alongside the international development and humanitarian sector for the past 20 years. Her background as a Veterinary Surgeon is complemented by an MSc in Environment and International Development and a Professional Diploma in Tropical Nursing from LSHTM. Her unusually broad and diverse academic and professional background encompasses animal health and welfare, human health, the environment, international aid and sustainable development. This multi-disciplinary career means she is adept transcending traditional professional silos, finding commonality and identifying interconnections. Her work is driven by a desire for a healthy, just and equitable world, and underpinned by values of compassion and respect.
Dr Maudling’s One Health work is broad ranging, including, but not limited to, pandemic prevention, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), equity and inclusion. She is a member of the Women for One Health network and the NEOH gender working group. She is a skilled communicator, as comfortable talking to CEOs, government officials and world-leading subject matter experts as to farmers, rural livestock keepers and pet owners.
In addition, she is a successful entrepreneur having co-founded a business that enables humanitarian, development and academic organisations globally to support their staff to travel and work in challenging situations around the world.
