2019-2020 Process and Schedule

Current Year Details – 2016-2017

Changes in the Process Since Last Year

2016-2017 Reminders and Changes

1. As a reminder, the signed and dated SME from the personnel file must be scanned and inserted into the dossier in section I.A. The SME must define the percentage of effort in the appropriate realms of faculty responsibility.
2. The revised Class Eval RPT Report, which is now available in the Class Eval system, is required for Section II.A.2.a.
3. Peer review of teaching is to be conducted for all faculty with teaching assignments. The required number of peer reviews was revised in 2015 (see Evaluation of Teaching Regulation REG05.20.10). Any case that does not contain the required number of peer teaching evaluations will require a brief explanation in the Department Head’s assessment.
4. In the annotated list of external evaluators (section VII.B.), Department Heads should include a summary or brief list of the materials sent to evaluators (see example). This will be a requirement starting with the 2017-2018 RPT cycle.

General Information Sessions

General Information Sessions are offered each Spring semester.  The presentations, with a question and answer period, are designed for new tenure track faculty, those who will be entering the RPT cycle, or individuals involved in the RPT process.

There will also be a separate session devoted to the promotion process for non-tenure track (NTT) faculty with professorial rank.  Interested NTT faculty, department heads and RPT department and college administrators are encouraged to attend.

Please familiarize yourself with the Promotion and Tenure website prior to the session.  http://www.provost.ncsu.edu/promotion-tenure/
