Incoming Students

Welcome to the Environmental First Year (ENVFY) Program. We look forward to meeting you at New Student Orientation. Before arriving at NC State, there are several things that you can do to prepare for the upcoming semester. Please monitor your New Student Checklist to make sure you are completing everything. Additionally, please review the course registration instructions listed below.

Fall Semester

For students planning to join the ENVFY Program in the fall semester, you can begin registering for your classes prior to New Student Orientation. We have provided all of the information you need to begin enrolling in your fall semester classes when the enrollment window opens in early June. It is important that you take action now so that you have the best selection of classes when enrollment opens. Follow the steps below to learn about the Enrollment Wizard and which classes to register for: 

  • Visit wolfware.ncsu.edu.
  • Under “My Wolfware” click on the “Projects” tab.
  • Scroll down and click on “Fall 2022 ENFY Self Registration”.
  • Review the welcome section and video.
  • Complete each section and answer the associated questions.
  • Once you have completed the steps, fill out the Advising Certification Survey. 
  • Sign the Certification Statement. If you have trouble accessing the statement, check the troubleshooting guide on Moodle. If it still does not work, email your advisor a screenshot of your completion page.

Your hold will be released within 48 business hours.

Spring Semester

For students planning to join the ENVFY Program in the spring semester, you can begin registering for your classes prior to New Student Orientation. We have provided all of the information you need for when the enrollment window opens in early to mid-October. It is important that you take action now so that you have the best selection of classes when enrollment opens. Follow the steps below to learn about the Enrollment Wizard and which classes to register for. If you are taking classes in the fall semester, please contact Jordan McMican so that she can help you determine which course credits will transfer to NC State. 

1. Visit wolfware.ncsu.edu.
2. Under “My Wolfware” click on the “Projects” tab.
3. Scroll down and click on “ENFY Spring Connect Self Registration 2023.”
4. Review the welcome section and video.
5. Complete each section and answer the associated questions.
6. Once you have completed the steps, fill out the Advising Certification Survey. 
7. Sign the Certification Statement. If you have trouble accessing the statement, check the troubleshooting guide on Moodle. If it still does not work, email your advisor a screenshot of your completion page.

Spring Connect Program

NC State admits a select group of first-year students to the Spring Connect program, allowing students to choose how they spend their fall semester prior to enrolling in the spring semester. Students are not required to take courses in the fall semester prior to their entry in the spring semester. If you choose to take courses, we ask that you let us know so that we can support your choices and ensure they transfer correctly to NC State. Students can also participate in the Prague Connect Program, where you will take classes in Prague, Czech Republic.
