Dr. Stovall is Professor of Political Science and chairs the social science division at Rust College. His academic career has focused on researching politics, race and culture; identity crisis of Blacks in America; miseducation of African Americans; racism and white supremacy; and Black student survival on predominantly white campuses. An international civil rights activist, he has done intensive study of the history and culture of Liberia, Sierra-Leone and Senegal, and is cofounder of the Abroad in Africa Program. He founded and coordinated the National African American Leadership Conference, a highly successful event for Black students. He is a former vice-president of ABCC. He was among six veteran organizers called to Germany to develop a civil rights party there. At the age of 23, Stovall served as the executive director of the Atlanta Southern Christian Leadership Conference. |
