Dr. Asante is Professor of African American Studies at Temple University. He has published 61 books. Among the most recent are: He is also author of African American History: Journey of Liberation, a widely used high school textbook throughout North America. He has published more scholarly books than any contemporary African author and has recently been recognized as one of the ten most widely cited African Americans. In 1987, he created the first Ph.D. program in African American Studies at Temple University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. |
