2011-2012 Tuition Review Advisory Committee (TRAC)

Committee Charge from Chancellor Woodson

NC State has consistently been ranked among the nation’s top 50 public universities and ranked as a national best value.  While we must ensure that we continue to maintain quality and affordability, it is important that we navigate our way through this tough economic climate.  As we brace ourselves for the 2012-2013 academic year which will likely deliver significant budget shortfalls, we must remain proactive.  The work of the Tuition Review Advisory Committee is particularly important.  I am asking the committee to proceed with the CITI review and recommendation process focusing on resident and non-resident tuition rates for undergraduate and graduate students as well as considering premium tuition increase requests. I request that TRAC members perform the following functions:

  • Review relevant materials relating to tuition, including guidance that will come from the UNC Board of Governors and General Administration including the continuation of the 6.5% increase limit for undergraduate residents.
  • Review the recent actions on tuition increases and formulate recommendations for changes in the level of increase and for allocation of the additional funds that might be generated for the 2012-2013 academic year.

The co-chairs who will help guide the work of this year’s committee are Provost Warwick Arden and Student Body President Chandler Thompson.
