Committee Charge

The learning environment established in our classrooms profoundly affects our ability to teach effectively.  This environment is influenced by the quality of lighting, seating, and acoustics in the classroom as well as the availability of communications aids such as chalk boards, projection and multi-media communication tools.  The management of this critical resource is a major undertaking requiring difficult decisions regarding the expenditure of limited funds for repairs, renovations and equipment. 

The committee  is charged with providing the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Finance and Business with student and faculty concerns about classroom facilities and equipment needed for their effective use.  In turn, the committee will relate to the faculty and student body the practical aspects of managing physical facilities including those related to fire and insurance regulations, resource  availability, etc.
